dave062 seemed to have read and understood my blog! the cell phone i agreed to and took away. just yesterday i found out about the i-pod touch thanx to her sister telling me about it and the "texting" going on.
wingman13 and pricechoppin i was in contact with the parents' of the cell phone situation before and after. the i-pod touch i have no idea who the friend is let along who the parents are.

Yes so would I if it was correct but as far I as I can see she had no knowlege of the i pod touch .She allowed her daughter to be given a cell phone by a friends parent before and not happy with the texts echanged on it so took it away ,now her daughter was given an i pod touch and kept it a secret and was only found out by her sister dropping her in it .

No ,that was the mobile phone ,she has already blogged about the probs she had with that .

She knew she had it cause she agreed for her to use it with stipulations as stated in first paragraph.

She had no idea her daughter had it .

I tend to agree with wingman here i would be marching these expensive "gifts" right back to their owners. As long as the teens have good support at home and feel they can talk to the parents openly, it helps alot with trying to support them with the peer pressure they often face. Good luck!

The first thing I would question before I went any further into the content of any texting is why her friends are giving her such expensive things and how legit that is.

Very hard to understand what teenagers are thinking and feeling because they really dont know themselves.What it's vital for us to understand and remember is the enormous power of peer pressure and how it over rides everything without them even realizing it .Hang in there sounds like you re doing a good job .
