Kid Poker V The World

Well, not quite, but its close.

I dont know how many of you will remember a hand Negreanu and Hansen played on high stakes poker some years ago. It was a tough old hand to play and negreanu came off the worst thanks to a real turn cooler.

Anyhow. We fast forward a few years and some tasty little Tweets have been going between the two of them. Its all in the right spirit, theres no bad blood here at all, according to the two of them. But

Negreanu decided it was time to see if he could get even with Hansen and he threw down a challenge. A Battleship challenge nonetheless. Ooooooooh I hear you all say, like errr, whats a battleship game of poker? I'd never heard of it either ;-)

Two players face each other across a table, but then play via the internet, on their laptopsso its a mash up between live and internet poker, played like the game Battleships. Sounds good funto me.

Then there was a little evolution going on and the game grew from a direct HU match into a 3 way HU series between two teams. Team PokerStars v Team Full Tilt. Great advertising for both sites.

Daniel Negreanu will captain Bertrand Grospellier and Isaac Haxton and Gus Hansen will captain Tom Dwan and Viktor Blom. There will be fireworks as all are very good HU players. Each player is to put up $50k so theres a decent prize pool and the action is due to kick off on 10Th March @ 14.00 GMT, 17.00 GMT and 20.00 GMT. So thats a date for the diary. The matches will be on Full Tilt Poker where we can watch them live. I shall be there for at least one game.
