The solution to password pirating

This is the simplist solution to the delemma of password pirating and is working on 2 sites that I am member to. 1).Establish a prequalification requirement(s) that a member MUST achieve in order to participate in any freeroll that is offered to it's members. It might be completion of Pokerschool, a certain number of posts, a certain number of PS Points, or a combination of requirements, but it absolutely needs to be a requirement that can NOT be met the same day someone joins and really should take a bit of effort to achieve. 2). Once a member has reached the requirement(s), they are added to an internal messaging list for the specific events they are eligible to play in and is internally messaged the password to the freerolls they can play in. The password(s) would be sent no more than 24hrs prior to the event. 3). In order to play in a crew event, the crew captain would have to submit the members name no less than 72 hrs. prior to the event and they have to meet minimum requirements all members have to in order to play in any freeroll. This gives whoever administers this system the time to make sure the submitted member has met the requirements and to add them to the crew events list. This will eliminate noncrew members from participating in crew events. Also, if a member is dropped from a crew event, it is the responsibility of the crew captain to submit the members name so that the member can be removed from the list. This will NOT eliminate password pirating 100%, but will eliminate the majority of it. When a member has to work to gain entry to an event, he has a vested interest in not publishing the password. Also, because a member has to log in to get the password from the internal message system, it keeps banned members from accessing the passwords. This eliminates having to make deals with sites, or other complicated issues and keeps the whole procss simple and internal. I realize the instant messaging system has to be set up based on eligibilty and will require updating, but this is the only system that is proven to work especially when dealing with several different sites. I saw freerolls go from 3-400 entries per event to 30-75 entries on 2 sites that I am a member to, so I know it works. |

My own view sounds very, very simple, but I don't know how easy it is to put in place: Every member gets an individual password, that is their own responsibilty to keep private. They use this same password for all tourneys that they register for. If the password is given to someone else, its easy to trace and the member gets a life ban. |

danutz said: well when they register for the tournament on pokerspace like that, they are not registered on the software ... and on the software itself there has to be one overall password - so if one gives out the password from the legally registered users on pokerspace, you would still not know who it was ... |

danutz said: it is possible but also would mean that the pre-reg for the events on pokerspace itself would have to close earlier and all registered up to a certain point prior to the tournament (e.g. 24h before the start) would get awarded a coupon to register - as there has to be a restricted list for each event, you may understand that this would cause a lot of work for each tournament |

My solution requires ALLOT less work once it is set up. It just requires updating. Also, the idea of preregistering would be done away with. Passes would be messaged and used if the member wanted to be in the freeroll. |

what if you had to highlight the password and place it in the registration along with your ps name tho the name would have no bearing on registration 1 could easily see who posted the entry, and they would have to be here at space logged in to get it to copy and paste, maybe this 1 is way out in left field, then again, who knows ?ps could place your name in the same box the password is in and it would be a 1 time deal then they could still post the password and it couldn't be stolen for example password ....PS**** motorinmarla ....PS****wckdnwld ect |

boy you are quick to stomp on thoughts, but thats cool, happens to me all the time and am way to used to it., maybe just maybe 1 will come up with the perfect solution throwing out ideas, and thats how most things come about threw ideas and maybe mine have been lame , big deal ind , the copy and paste idea could also have a hidden code in it , visable to no-one..... then they could rack their brains out trying to figure it out. but only have an hour to do so !!! seems not to long ago , i got the same responce from someone whos not here anymore because they were found to be cheating with numerous accounts, buthe said basically the same thing about framing him or other players,as a lastditch effort to draw attention away from himself/themselves......hmmmmmm |

The best solutions are the simplest ones. Seems you're getting way too complicated. |
