Am I the only one who gets annoyed with this.. Playing in a freeroll and when the tourney starts getting on abit.. they take ages every turn to try make the cash, I know on walker and carbon the stop that by waiting for each table near the end.. but they still do it before this starts.. Just trying to enjoy a nice ps freeroll, and it frustrates me waiting for these people who are just abit selfish to be honest. need patience in poker as it is.. it does generally effect my play. |

LOL...I dare say the vast majority of us slow things down if we are near bubble time and struggling, I admit to doing it in all sorts of tourneys! Why? simply because taking that extra 20 seconds here and there may be difference between cashing or not. I actually respect players that do it, as it shows a dicipline and awareness of the game. You should use this as a weapon tho if you want to bully, because these will very, very rarely call unless they have an absolute monster. The are just trying to survive afterall, so even if you have total rags, raise them every time, until they are in the money they won't call . So don't get annoyed with someone doing it, try and play it to your advantage! |

yep theyre the most annoying part and they dont realise thier stalling does absolutely nothing for the game becuase nobody else is playing on as all tables have to wait for them anyway lol... All it does is make blinds so high that they get blinded out anyway. Find something to take your mind off it or do what I do and watch all the other tables and give everyone updates on whats going on like a sports commentator. |

I think what he means is the ultra shortstack with about 3 blinds in cash... who isnt going to call and sits and waits for time before folding stalling as long as possible every single hand. Not people who actually might play and are thinking it through. |

indelacio said: Oh i know ind that is what he is talking about, and as far as I see it is as long as its within the rules its a valid play. There is the same time limit for everyone, so as far as I can see its a fair part of the game. Yes it can be annoying, especially if you are trying to keep up with the game leaders, but the guy is just trying to survive and cash!! Good luck to him! lol |

Not always the survivers, someone admitted what he was doing while he had enough chips for like 15 bb's.. the time is there to think about your moves, not to abuse to to win some pety cash.. I know its not illegal and I wasnt trying to pass it as something illegal, I just think people should play the game and if you play well enough you will get your chips.. i mean taking the full amount of time every single hand.. and not fair on the rest.. plus so many people doing this all the tables seem to go as sdlow as each other so why not just all play fast instead lol.. just gonna hit bigger blinds quicker if every table is slow as each other |

Also I do enjoy Turbo Rebuys, and Turbo and Ultra SnG's, but when you play them and switch back to standard tourneys it seems like its in slow motion! One good thing is at least I get time to grab a coffee in between hands! |

Regardless of it's value, It's a valid point.. 9 players waiting for 1 guy to ponce around taking all the time up on purpose.. It's not needed, It's not part of the game poker.. |

I don't mind people taking time to think, or even getting themselves occupied every now and again.. |

This "tactic" has gained me entry into 2 2cd rounders very recently, that I doubt I would have made otherwise and helped me make the money in several tourneys that I know I wouldn't have made otherwise. I will continue to use this annoying tactic as long as it works and really don't care who it upsets, because my purpose for playing is to make money, not friends. Now if there isn't a real advantage to letting the clock run out, then I think it's wrong, but I won't allow it to pull me off my game if some else is doing it. I know it happensby accident when I'm playing several tables at a time I don't get ugly at all if someone calls me down for using a tactic, I ignore it and playon or at the most make a non offensive comment. When someone does call me down, it tells that what I've done must be working in at least one area because in the very least, it has put at least one player off his game, which is a close step to being on tilt. |
