i was wondering if the riddles will ever come back to poker space! i have had the pleasure of solving many and creating many but have alsoracked my brains to try and solve many. i have submitted many more riddles not posted and my "BRAIN HAS BEEN RACKING OUT SOME MORE AND WAITING TO CHALLENGE MYSELF TO SOLVE SOME MORE!"

I love puzzles - we should be able to challenge ourselves while sitting around playing poker lol

I would love to see them return to Pokerspace, as it was the riddles that were the medium that got me involved in this forum.

Without the riddles I would never have downloaded all the poker sites I have through pokerspace as I simply would not have intergrated. I now come here almost every day and make regular contributions.

I dread to think how many sign-up conversions Pokerspace is missing out on due to no longer running the riddles section???

I visit pokerspace maybe once a week at this point. Back when I had riddles to challenge me I would be on every hour trying to figure them out, and it wasn't just the riddle section. I would be all over the site. Now I come on to check if I have any messages and to see if riddles are back then I'm off to a different poker forum I spend a majority of my time on now.

no new riddles were submitted, I don't have access to the old riddles email but always told you and schubereater that you can send them to my pokerspace email

Oh yeah, I know you did Zed, you're quite right, you did say that. However,

The main problems are:

1) That the riddles section is now tucked away in a sub-section of the "Lounge" area, whereas it used to have it's own section.

2) Michelle used to actually run the riddles section, it used to be a part of her job. She used to have a few that she used to keep in case nobody submitted, if she was running low she used to message the regular writers for help or even write one herself.

Now, new members are less likely to even find the riddles section and given that there are no new riddles there is no interest. There are no points for solving the old ones, so what's the point for members to solve? The section needs promoting to get it running again and a regular input to build a following.

Each week the riddle solving members used to await a new riddle and strive to become the first to solve. It brought a sense of community and a purpose to being on Pokerspace, a fun side to things that involved something other than the competition of playing poker. New members would get involved and keep coming back.

I'm sure the novelty of the riddles were a factor of why Pokerspace became the great site that it is now, along with the lotto (also relegated in the Lounge).

I'm sure new members need something to keep them interested and to help them to integrate into the Pokerspace community, the riddles helped to do this. But now there is nothing. I feel that while it's all well and good trying to attract new members to the site, something has to be done to keep them here once you've got them and I'm sure the site is losing active members because of this. If I joined the site now, I very much doubt I would hang around as there is nothing to keep me here!

I used to love writing the riddles and would like to do it again, but while they're in the current state I don't see the value in doing it. There is no value to Pokerspace in having a riddle up here and there on an ad-hoc basis on a section tucked away in some sub-section. They need to be on the main page and run every week.

I know you're busy Zed and I'm not in any way blaming you as I know you just don't have the time to invest in it. I did offer Steve to run the riddles section and that offer still stands. I appreciate that there is some technical problem regarding access issues which prevents me from doing so, which is a shame. It would be good to get more member interaction again and I have another idea too which would be great to run in conjuction with the riddles, which I feel would benefit the site at some time in the future.

just let me know and I will see if I can squeeze in some updates, just gotta take care of some other necessary technical updates first

I would suggest a caption competition to run alongside the riddles. Whereby a picture is posted once a week and members could submit humourous captions using the forum for say 500 points for the winner.

It would give new and existing members something to do as well as the riddles and offer some diversity.

A caption competition is run every week by another poker forum attached to a Poker site in the UK which I won't name (Sky Poker) and it creates some interest.

However, for it to work, both the riddles and the caption competiton would need to be more prominently displayed on Pokerspace so members could actually find them and so they can see them when they log-in. Having them where the riddles is now is completely pointless.

I agree however that would also mean we need to add another tab and main page in the upper navigation bar or increase the number of displayed "items" per tab, which would probably look shyte when the other tabs have less sub categories ... it's sometimes more complicated than expected on first glance :(
