Recently Cake Poker announced that it has released an application that will allow players to play for real money on their Windows Mobile operating system phones. This might not be an iPhone app (which is unlikely to be created in the near future given Apple's refusal to allow it to be sold on their store) but Cake has also announced it is working an more versions of their real money software for phones like the Blackberry. This is a niche market that will definitely appeal to the busy player always on the go. The big question is whether Cake Poker will see an serious change in their traffic because of the creation of mobile poker. To find out more about it read this article on Cake Poker's mobile addition. |

I would be playing right now if I could play on my phone. Would have to be UB though. Work would be so much better! I would be more comfortable saying, "I play poker for a living". |

my phone is fully touch screen and in order to zoom you have to use your fingers to do so... which means there is waaaaaaay too much room for misclick errors... so I'd have to say no. not to mention if the phone became lost or stolen, depending on how the deposit options were set up, you'd stand to lose a lot more than just your phone... so again, I'd have to pass. |

LiLadyPoker said: My understanding so far is that the app's design is completely different than a normal PC view to try and cut down on misclicks. For deposits, these are to take place exclusively on a PC not a phone. Setting up new accounts and deposits are still the exclusive realm of the main PC software. I know I would feel safer not being able to make a deposit on my mobile. |

Absolutely hate mobile phones, dont own one, so hardly likely to ever play poker via one. I did have a natty PDA though, that was fun, but also expensive data tarrif.

I've recently heard that several poker sites are looking to go in this direction, but mostly from a Beta testing aspect. My concern is that even with today's coverage and technology improvements there is still to much instability for me to risk money playing on my mobile phone. I don't like the idea of catching a game only to lose it due to connection issues or application problems. |
