My Dad told me back in 2000 that he was going to have people over to play a poker game. I always had poker around but never knew how to play, so I was always just losing money on crappy Dealer's choice games. So when he had this tournament set up, I was working at a Soccer place selling... well, soccer stuff, and I had poker on the TV instead of the soccer games, and I was taking notes on what is what and all that good stuff. So tournament night came, I was still learning, but playing what I thought was the right way at the time, and I ended up winning $230 for 1st place. I was hooked ever since. Yes it may have been beginners luck, but if I didn't win, I dunno if I would really be playing poker now. Since then, I've got 2nd in a casino $65 buyin and won $750, won an OFC game for a WPT super satellite trip worth $3,762, a $1 rebuy first place for $620, and a few others for a few hundred and prolly a few hundred up on live cash tables.
