FAQ - Pokerspace Crew Cup

.

What is the Crew Cup?

The Crew Cup is essentially a poker league spanning over three months however instead of a traditional league for individuals this is a team based league. All crews will compete in a series of weekly tournaments over the course of three months leading up to the Crew Cup Final.

How do I qualify for the Final Crew Cup Tournament?

In order to qualify your crew will need to earn Crew Cup Points. Crew Cup Points are awarded based on your team's performance in each event. Crews qualify for the Crew Cup final by either placing in the top 3 in Crew Cup points for a given month or in some Crew Cups can qualify directly by winning a direct entry Crew Cup qualifying tournament.

How does the scoring system work for Crew Cup Points'

In a Crew Cup event the rank of the top three finishers in each crew will be added up. The winning Crew will be the one that has the lowest total.

Example: Two crews competing in a Tournament:

Top 3 Crew A finishers: 17th 25th 36th = 78
Top 3 Crew B finishers: 1st 60th 117th = 178

Crew A will finish in 1st and Crew B will finish in 2nd.

If two crews tie in any crew cup event the tie is broken by whichever crew has the top finish in the tournament (ie. if two crews tie in points and Crew A's top finisher was 5th and Crew B's top finisher was 9th, Crew A wins)

Crew Cup Points:

Each participating crew will earn crew Cup points. If there were 20 crews competing then the 1st place crew (the one with the lowest total rank) will earn 20 Crew Cup Pts. 2nd Place crew would earn 19 Crew Cup pts and so on.

What happens if I qualify more than once?

Any crew that qualifies more than once will not be granted any special prize. The entry that they earned will just be voided and not given away to the next placed crew. This will give the winning crews one less competitor in the final tournament.

When and where is the Final Crew Cup Tournament'

The Crew Cup Final Tournament will be hosted on Saturday, October the 11th. It will be hosted by Carbon Poker and the event is scheduled to kickoff at 1pm EST.

What if there is a tie in the monthly Crew Cup rankings?

If two or more crews are tied in the Crew Cup rankings at the end of the month, the tiebreaker will be the number of Fast Track Points earned at the end of the month. The month is usually finalized by 6pm on the 1st of the following month. However, only the online play and deposit bonus PS points earned to the end of the month will be counted.

For this reason it is nearly impossible to police chip dumping even if we thought it was best for the crew game.

o Chip dumping or similar play can backfire! In fact, many crews employ and discuss strategies of how to counter it.

Cross-crew teamwork

-While teamwork within a crew is acceptable, teamwork among multiple crews is strictly prohibited.
