Wow, V that was a tough beat I had something similar happen tonight had AKs on button it limp to me I rasied 6x BB guy called flop top pair top kicker and a 4 flusher guy throws allin with A4os and catches a 4 on the turn and luaghed about it and that was in the Daily $1000 freeroll at Walker Poker it's just a freeroll I have to guess is what someone would call with about a 6% of hitting his trips or hitting his low kicker and having it hold up against 20 outs but it happens it's poker

its carbon aces lose 9 times out of 10 there.. also he possibly thought you missed with your push, or figured you for a straight or flush draws.. as people have said more sensible ammounts might have scared him off as he wouldve thought you hit.... but some donks thing a pair and an overcard are good some even wont fold ak on stupid hands just because theyre above... But dont make it cheap for a flushdraw but donking all in like that is only going to work so many times.... you had the best hand at that point value bet to get the most from callers.

Sherri, the blinds were 25/50. Sass was bb. I raised another $200 and he calls. He hits the 10, which is mid pair and puts in a "tester" bet of $50. That's when I pushed and he calls.

      eek!
reminds me of everyone saying: 10's NEVER lose!
Don't know what the blinds were....you were in good position to slow-play A's...BUT..that never works for me, so I'm usually all in preflop. May not be much, but at least they seldom get cracked that way!
      Good Luck, V

Marg, I understand what you are saying, BUT...As there were straight and flush draws, I wanted to avoid this person from drawing out.

Now, as I stated before..."If I hit middle pair with a preflop raise and someone comes over the top...90 percent of the time I am NOT going to risk my tournament life with a 10, no straight or flush draw. Just my mentality.

To CHIPTHIEF, this was not a "complaint" as you stated. Take a look again at the hand description. :"This is what took me out of today's CC tourney. Now, to me it's not worth putting all my chips in with mid pair. Let me know what you guys think about this one."

Now, the complaining is where? No offense once again, but it seems that your postings are mostly complaints about what people have said to you during your tourneys. Now I think I may know why. Take a look at your attitude.

To all the rest who have posted, thanks so much for your input!

      Veronica

I agree whole-heartedly with Marg. I always think "What could have been done differently?". A raise to a standard 150 would have been called, sure. A continuation bet of 200 into the 375 pot might have led to a "She's obviously strong and trying to suck more chips into the pot and I only have 2nd pair" - but even if called - the all-in after the rag turn with ZERO flush cards on the board would have SURELY led to a fold. Sometimes as Marg suggests, the post flop all-in almost leads one to believe "She missed the flop altogether and is desperately trying to buy the pot". It's certainly another way to look at it.

The all in push is what makes them call with mid pr imo as their logic is "Y all in if really got a hand, or are they trying to bluff by pushing all in?"

I am just wondering what Doc was thinking there? AQ and even JJ has him in a bad spot, and based on your raise preflop a monster AA KK he is worse off, if KQ QJ Q10 there is massive domination, and if QQ, 1010 or even a lowly steal attempt with 44, he is virtually drawing dead! So many reasons to fold K10 with no flush draw to accompany 2nd pair, 2nd kicker, especially given the betting which offers no odds to justify anything beyond a pre-flop fold.

ur problem queen is that u get aces so much u think they will always win.........they dont...just like i proved to you when i knocked u out.......my advice to u is stop complaining pocket aces win 1 out of 3 times if that........lmao.....u should change ur name to queen complainer or ihateaces.......cause u always lose with them.........read my blog any 2 cards can win........maybe u will learn to play the game and not complain all the time......more major tourneys have been won with rags than aces........if u love poker than u would know that already..........lol......
